Default Ruger Number 1 trigger job..

I do remember that someone offered a spring replacement for the Number 1 that did help with trigger pull. I think it may have been Wolf. You can check Brownells to see if they carry replacement/upgrade parts for the trigger group. I watched a video of disassembling the Number 1 action and I know that I would not do it myself. In my opinion rifle/pistol triggers are like brakes on a car/truck, they MUST work perfectly everytime.

Default There is a replacement trigger for the Number 1

Brownells offers the Kepplinger set trigger for the Number 1. I sounds like from the reviews that the instructions are not great and there are casting marks that should be finished off prior to installation. The cost listed is 230 dollars. It is listed as being able to set the not set weight at 1-3 lbs.
One reviewer was not a happy camper, the other three were.

Default There was a aftermarket hammer available

Brownells used to carry the Moulds company replacement speed hammer for the Number 1. You could contact Moulds and see it they will sell you the set. It comes with a speedlock or competition replacement hammer and a wolff replacement heavy weight hammer spring. The cost for the kit when Brownells offered it was either 55 or 75 dollars depending on which kit with the competition being the more expensive one. I had contacted them once on a replacement quarter rib scope mount for my Number 1 and they were willing to sell it to me. Expect the price to be higher than when it was listed by Brownells.
