My Nosler M48 TGR In 7mm-08 Is Here Post deleted |
Absolutely beautiful rifle. |
It isn't fare... That is to pretty for just one person to have. You should use it this year and let me use it next year. I will then hand it off after a year to huntingman. What twist rate did you spec out for the barrel? The default is 1 in 9.25, I figure everything else is totally custom you might have changed that also. Are you worried about the 6x scope having to small of a field of view when you are hunting the more closed in areas? Are you planning on using 140gr or 150gr bullets for the 7mm-08? From which company Nosler, Barnes, etc? Karl |
What primers are you going to use? I have always had great luck using Federal primers in my rifle and pistol loads. I remember reading that they can make a big difference, but I have decided long ago to not change something that is working fine for me. Have you found one works better than another for your loading or is it caliber dependent as to which you use? Karl |
Did you consider Leopold inplace of Weaver scopes? Was it a matter of one fitting better on the rifle, or did you just decide you wanted to try the 6x Weaver instead of the 6x Leopold? Karl |
Thanks for sharing your decision reasoning... I wasn't trying to be nosey, it is interesting just asking and finding out your thought process on the scope. I have a Nikon African 1x4 that I like a lot, but I know it isn't probably as good as my Leopold 1x5 VXIII. The Nikon works on a rifle where the Leopold wouldn't. Karl |
congrats on a nice looking rig! |
The problem is that this rifle will spoil you... I personally have issues with hard/heavy triggers because my rifles are set nice and crisp. With this rifle the whole thing is wonderful and you will not be happy with just a regular rifle anymore. I wish we all had this problem.. Karl |
Has your Ruger M77 in 358 become the backup.. I remember reading that you were going to be taking your Ruger M77 in 358 on your hunts this fall. Has this new custom moved the Ruger into the backup rifle spot? Karl |
