I'm a .243 shooter, used to be a 30-30 hunter.I've used core-lokts for decades and killed dozens of deer with them.170 grain in the 30-30 and 100 grain in the .243.

I have had a browning 7mm magnum a-bolt hunter for 31 years, It is the best rifle I have ever owned , it is always dead on ,and has never malfunctioned in any way, as far as ammo I have shot aloot of different stuff but for my money nothing out performs the remington core-lokt psp.its very accurate and puts them down,as for scopes bigger is not always better most important is quality, the fewer adjustment knobs the better I like them, however my longest shot is usually around 200yds.good luck .
