IMO any rifle will be effective if the shooter does his part. Range time, properly sighted-in , good ammo , and shot placement is gonna make any rifle effective. wether it is a $100 or $1500 rifle...

American by birth, Southern by the grace of God.

Most effective rifle for hunting??

Every rifle I have in my gun safe is most effective for what it was designed for.

Most are great for hunting deer, some effective for varmints - 2 or 4 legged ones.
Animal to hunt, distances to cover, distances to carry said rifle during hunt, all are an integral part in determining what is the "most effective" rifle for an individual. For me who hunts white tail deer on "only" 15 acres of land, I cannot determine what is "most effective" for someone who hunts moose/elk having 300-450 yards to shoot over and carry the rifle several miles during the hunt.

I probably did not answer your question, but the question is too broad to really provide any single answer.

Exactly. There isn't ONE rifle that is just the all time best at hunting in general.

Best rifle is pretty much an impossible term. For example, you can build a mosin nagant with a scope for $240, the gun costs $99 so its overall the best rifle in its price range, because there are no other rifles that cheap that u can hunt deer with. But there are way more expensive rifles that can outperform it. It comes down to what factors you're looking for. best cheap rifle, best expensive, best scoped, best what? its an endless debate with there being no answer
