Last season I was blessed with a 160 acre plot to hunt with my sons. We put up some tree stands and dropped some corn about 2 weeks before the season. We saw 5 or 6 deer but always as they were moving away. We were easily busted in ladder stands. I am planning on building a couple box stands about 6 feet off the ground this year, The question is how do I get deer to come onto the plot it is surrounded by wheat fields on all sides. the plot is all CRP grass.

From my experience deer are a creature of habit, and if they are used to hanging out in the wheat feilds its going to be hard to draw them away from that. If you have a box blind you might be able to call or rattle them in, or try some buck bomb scent. I have never used it, but my hunting buddy swears by it and he always seem to get deer. I'm not sure where you are from, but here in central/norhtern michigan I usually plant rye, clover, and winter wheat and have had good luck with that.
