I need a gunstock blank for an old gun

Before my father passed away, he gave me the Winchester model '94 lever action rifle that had been my grandfather's gun. It was made in 1911 and is chambered in a 25-35 caliber. The butt stock was broken and my dad had complained that he was never able to shoot anything with it. He gave it to me with the challenge to shoot something with it. But before I can shoot anything with it, I need a new butt stock blank and would like to replace the fore end piece too. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

if you have all the parts. i would see about a repair first. that old gun is a collectors idem. it will lose even more value if you replace with new. if you don't have the parts i'd look for a vintage stock and leave the fore-stock as is. but that's me.

Check on line at Fagen they have been in business for over 50 years. Also, like ronn said try to protect to gun value as much as possible. Would be nice to put a round through it just to see how much barrel is left, hate to see you put some serious money in it if the darn thing is shot out. Just a thought.

being a old 25/35 thats a good point hm. those old black powder rounds were real corrosive.

It may have started out that way ronn, but I'm sure at some point smokeless was put through it, and probably quite a few.

25-35 in a winchester lever action is one of my dream collectables that someday hopefully comes true. The other is a winchester 88 in 308 win made from 1955-1963 after that price/value starts dropping.

Thanks for the replies, I'll check out the info. As to the value, it had been in a fire and my grandfather had bought it and relaced the stock and forend. It is only valued by me as an heirloom and I will be leaving it to one of my nieces or nephews with the instructions that it only stays in the family.
