boresnake

i've just started using the bore snake, mainly for the ar type rifles. anyone been using it for a while and what do you think?

Ronn, I've had borsesnakes for my Benelli and 300 WSM for the last couple years. I think they are great for taking along when going hunting - leave in the truck, or, in a coat pocket, but I don't use them for regular cleaning after a session at the range. I like using new clean patches for that. The closest thing to a Boresnake for regular cleaning is the Otis system which is another breech to muzzle system. Otis Technology, Inc.

i've seen the adds and is close to the same but allows you to use your same technique to clean. i ask because the lever gun cleaning came up. now the ar's aren't that bad but the snake sure makes seasoning a barrel a lot easier. the otis would be almost as simple.

I have one in .22 cal and in .30 cal that I use quite regularly. They work very well for getting most of the stuff out.
