first deer!!

ok fellas, and ladies. i am new to the hunting scene. but i have got the bug. this last weekend was my first time out. and wow!! i have never seen anything like it. i seen so many deer. but it just didnt feel rite. then i seen him. a big 5x5 everything in my body told me he was the one. so i snuck around the tree. drew up on him. man i tell you i was so nervous. it was worse than going on a first date. didnt have a clear shot though. so i crept around the next tree. and drew back up on him. and try to slow down my breathing. held my breath and pulled the triger. and down goes the deer. and i was more excited than i can ever remember. well thanks for reading.

some rush huh?welcome to the club here and to the hunting world

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky

Congratulations from Vermont... Sounds like a great start to me !
