any one bear hunters

i was thinking about a bear hunting trip in the TN mountains this year is anyone ever hunted bear?

If you live in TN where do you hunt

I have hunted them in Wisconsin a few times, and I plan on hunting them this fall in Minnasota. I took my 1st bear (and smallest) many years ago with a rifle and vowed to kill the rest with bow. My biggest was a 500 pound monster I arrowed just outside the City limets in Wausau Wisc.

Wasau what zone is that in ? the last time I went it was near the town of Iron River WI Zone A1

For bear, most folks go to the TN side of the Smokies....I know a fellow who traveled to NC to hunt. Bear are showing up more and more all over East TN, even middle TN some.

I have never got to go bear hunting. Would like to though.

The 500 pounder was from the Wausau area, Zone "C"...
The pic of the big one in the woods is from "A-1" near Drumlin.
The Gun bear was from zone "B"
If I ever get one in zone "A" I will have gotten one in each.

While we are on the bear subject... My last Wisc. bear hunt was quite exciting, even though I was more the mentor, than the hunter. I made a few mistakes on his bear hunt, and they almost cost me dearly.... Read this article about my sons 1st bear hunt and almost my last ....

great story.im gonna try bear hunting up at camp this year.weve seen apair,ma,,pa and 2 cubs 2yrs ago we still get sightings but not of them all together the trail camera got some good pics.huge black bear.only thing is i got to hunt em with a bow.thats what kept me from trying it already.i still think im bringing a rifle for "back up"

the gun would definitely be Backup Plan A if yer talking about bear. Backup Plan B (run like a mad man) doesn't always work. Option C (crap yer pants while running) is smelly, and equally ineffective.
