One of my friends came over saturday for opening day and we shot 4 deer between us. We were out for all does, but ended up with two does and two bucks mistaken for does... Here's a pic of three. We had just gotten the fourth right before dark and was still in the pickup.
Yeah, I know...My buddy shoots open sights and doesn't have binos. One of them had actual spikes ~6" long, and the other was probably a 2.5 y/o deer that had both main beams snapped off about an inch above the base. I was with him when he shot the busted rack, and I couldn't see them with my nikons. He should have taken more time to identify the spike, but things happen. He was ticked he had to use his buck tag on a spike...maybe that will teach him.
