Default Best .270 hunting load

I just purchased an Savage 111 .270. I need to sight it in and pick the ammo I will be using for a Mule Deer doe hunt in Colorado. Any suggestions on the best factory load. 130-140-150. Premium load or not? Thanks so much for your advice.

For average deer sized animals I think you should shoot whatever ammo gives you the best groups. When I hunted Colorado for elk my back-up rifle was in 270 win cal. I used Remington safari grade ammo loaded with Swift-A-Frames in 140 gr. I sighted in zero at 200 yds with 2" groups about the best I can do. 130, 140, 150 gr, probably won't matter much on deer even mulies. If I was going after 250-300 lb bucks I'd probably shoot the 140 or 150 gr in a premium factory load which are easy to locate but a bit expensive, however, cheap compared to the overall hunting trip cost.

The best load for our rifles might not be best for yours, all rifles are individuals. That disclaimer said, I'd suggest you try some 130 Federal Fusions as they are known to normally show good accuracy. As far as .270s I own are concerned, two of mine show outstanding accuracy with good old Winchester PP ammo, one likes 130gr and the other likes 150gr.
