Yea, thought about that except for the hassle of dismounting the scope and then re-sighting it in upon return. Especially if there's truly no issue, as I found on mine. They just gave a date-range of serial #'s that could be affected, it doesn't mean that every rifle is affected. That's why it was a voluntary recall and not a mandatory safety recall.
I know, I was lucky, I just bought the rifle and mounted the scope. That's why i figured I'd send it in. Now if they don't lose it, or screw up, hopefully everything will be fine.
