New Ruger American Rimfire - Who Wants One?
I do. I need another .22 like I need another anything else, but I think Ruger is a company definitely worth supporting and the rifle looks like a winner with adjustable cheek combs and using (yuk!) 10/22 magazines. Bolt action, so should be very accurate too.
Ruger American Rimfire™ Bolt-Action Rifle Models
Actually think I may go for the 22 WMR version to give me a rimfire option, .22 LR or .22 WMR. Wonder if they will offer .17 Mach2 or .17 HMR?
Scorpion I said the same thing when the takedown came out & now I am ordering one this week
I think the american rimfire will be out in a .17 sometime being a bolt action
the 17 is what a lot of people want & Since the Ruger Family really has nothing to do with the company anymore they have become a Customer driven company if enough people ask for something they will do their best to build it
They have tried & tried to make the 17 work in the 10/22 autoloading rifle but just could not make it work without totaly redesigning the rifle
Since they make the 77/17's I see a good chance they will make an american in those also in the future
What don't you like about the 10/22 mag's?
I know some of the older 10 round had issues but new ones seem ok & I love the new BX25's
also if this rifle is as good as the regular american & prices seem good enough this will be a hot seller
My first 10/22 (circa 2000) had lots of problems with not only the OEM stock mags but also the Hot Lips and Steel Lips ones. My current 10/22 seems to have less issue, but I also shoot it a lot less. I would have preferred a simple tubular magazine.
Only issue I really have is with Remington ammo
In mine I have 3 10 round mags & 3 bx 25 mags no issues mine is newer then yours my fathers is from the 60-70 era & only had issues with aftermarket mags
My family has a total of 8-10 10/22s we shoot the heck out of them
