Choosing a Hunting Spot
I dunno..........as I look at the various places that are designated for Hunting (I'll be hunting Deer, with a Shotgun & Rifled Slugs), I don't know which to choose.
There's WMA's (Wildlife Management Areas), State Forests, State Parks, and even an "Others" catagory.
I highlighted various ones this morning, to see acreage, and layout. I'm in the "No-Lottery Season A" bracket, so I look for descriptions that state that the particular place I'm looking at includes my particular bracket.
What I want to avoid, (and I'm afraid I may not be able to), is about 30 hunters in the same field, shooting at the same damn Deer!! Not so sure that I'm gonna be able to do that.
Perhaps when trying to decide which area to hunt, I'll have to consider taking a couple days off work, to avoid the weekend warriors, eh?
So what about these various locations (WMA, State and Other)? Anything particularly different about these locations? Why should I choose one over the other? Is it a "hit or miss" situation?
nothing beats a well thought out plan that includes scouting in advance. Then your spot is lost to another hunter on public grounds. I stopped hunting public lands many years ago.
