I use Federals through my Rugers (what they recommended )
have started using the Federal Fusions this year & I am really liking them may want to try a box looks like they do a .243 in 95 grain or the federal Vital shock in 100 grain personally I never had good luck with Remington ammo but it could be my Rugers don't do well with it either

Default Matching ammo to guns

Yeah my rugers and t/c's do not like remington ammo. Federal, hornady or handloads rock!

My favorite rifle, other than my flintlock is my Remington 7600 in .30-06
I've taken a lot of deer with it.

I have a 7mm Rem Mag that I killed a couple deer with, but that thing is way overkill for deer.

I also have another Remington 7600 in .308, but I haven't ever shot it yet. There's a pre-64 Winchester model 94 in .30-30 in my cabinet that I was thinking of carrying this year beacuse I have never taken a deer with it. I have a Marlin 336 in .35 Remington that I'd like to take a deer with sometime too.

Oh yea.... I almost forgot. I just bought a "new-in-box" Weatherby 7mm-08 Vanguard Series II that I'm going to try to get set up for next year.

So, for deer in order of preference:
.35 Remington
7mm Rem Mag
