| | .22 long rifle
The only gun I have to use to hunt whittail is a .22 long rifle. I was wondering if anyony has any suggestions on where to shoot the deer. Iv been told by several to shoot in the head. Also what type of ammo should I use? I was told to get one with a solid point. Please give me som advise. I was also looking for an inexpensive scope and ideas? | |

yes i think its illegal to hunt deer with a .22!!! check your regulations for your state. its also a very inhumane way to try and kill a deer. you need a bigger rifle

Well I believe that it's much too risky to try taking a deer with a 22. Is there any possibility of you getting a rifle with a little more power? Scope? I have a basic Bushnell scope that came with the rifle I purchased. I believe that it's the most simplest scope on the market.

There is no need to even hunt deer with a 22, first off it is most likely illegal, second it is mean to the deer. And may i ask why this is posted in the shotgun section of the forums?

yes, you can kill a deer with a .22 LR, I have personally done it, shoot them in the ear, drops them like a sack of potatoes, and for all these other people saying it's illegal, you might want to check your states wildlife page, but It is legal in allot of states, im sick of hearing from all of you anti gun anti hunting animal loving tree hugging morons, don't you have anything better to do than sit at hunting forums and talk about how it is un-ethical, our fore fathers hunter with worse weapons than any .22 on the market and nobody had anything to say back then, go praise your Obama and leave us alone.
