Remington M700 quality, is it dropping???

I am considering ordering out a new M700 Stainless Mountain rifle in 30-06 but some of the Members are grumbling about intermittant quality lately from Remington. Has anyone had a problem with a new built M700 lately? It is a bullet proof design if the quality control Team is still there. I also heard questional things about new Marlin rifles after they started to be built in the Remington plants. Rumors could well be just that rumors, does anyone have first hand experiance with real issues?

Thanks
Karl

My Son's Remington 870 Express

My Son bought one of the 299.xx dollar specials last year and paid 269 after the rebate. It isn't a Wingmaster finish wise, but it is a solid shotgun at a very low pricepoint. Comparing it to the Mossberg 500, the Remington 870 Express seemed to be a better gun.

I just bought a new Remington Model 7 (short action Rem700) and it's mechanically perfect. No issues with it at all.
