So I understand everyone hoarding primers, but it's gone too far here. A recent trip to the only place in town that stocks reloading supplies showed not a single bag of media for my tumbler nor any case polish. They are usually well stocked on that stuff. It kills ya! Even MidwayUSA was out-of-stock on corn-cob media for tumblers. Argh!
Yup getting stupid here too even Ruger's BX25 10/22 mags were selling at our local gun show last weekend for up to $100 ea. had to laugh when I get them for under $20
had an offer for my 30rd mini-30 mag for $115 told him I would take $2000 for the mini with the mags & he actually was thinking about it.
It is not for sale but for that price I think he would have owned it
seen about 20 boxes of 5.56 at Walmart last week. thought about getting a few(3 box limit), passed. went back a day later and all were gone. haven't seen any anywhere since till today at F&F.
I had stopped buying ammo from F&F when they raised the price for 45 acp from 16.00/50 to 25.00/50 for no apparent reason. anyhow, gave them another chance a few days ago and voila. Remington 22LR bricks for $18.00. went back today to pick up one more and all gone, but they had WW 55gr 5.56 on the shelf for $11.99/20ct box
LGS had lg pistol primers which are getting scarce
Sorry, this don't relate to reloading so much as it does to hoarding.
Still no .22 LR in this town. Our retailers like Fred Meyers and WalMart get some in, but they sell out within minutes of bringing the stock out to the counters.
we have already been thru all that down here. ammo is getting back in stores and ARs have come back in price from $700 and up depending on what ya want. I didn't have any real worries,I was well stocked before it went crazy. I try to always have atleast 1k rds per gun
ammo may be slowly coming back but rimfire ammo seems still slow to return. Sportsman guide shows most all 22 ammo as back ordered a few days ago. Haven't been to Bass Pro lately.
real good deal if you can get them to work I have had more FTF's, stove pipes
& loading issues with Remington .22 ammo so unless I am desperate I will not buy it anymore
I don't prefer Remington over other brands, it's just that when availability is in short supply this makes for a great deal,,,, "for now".:wink:
I know what you mean Bruce I don't know what happened to Remington ammo. I have had more issues with their ammo even the core loks over the last few years. Last year I tried the Fusions & have been the best I have tried so far
I think for me what I've noticed is, Remington ammo seems to work ok for my Rifles but it's never done well in my pistols. maybe it's just me but one things for sure, my M77 Ruger .270 "loves" Remington 130gr psp's
I had problems with regular Rem 22 ammo feeding in my semi-auto rifles some misfires also. CCI 22 has been nearly perfect but is more expensive, although the Rem yellow jackets were pretty good and fast. I haven't shot much win 22 ammo to know their quality. I've never had problems with rem center fire ammo.
Send it this way!! I'll take all the Remington 22LR that nobody wants, because it works great in all my rifles and pistols. Golden Bullet, Viper, Yellow Jacket, Game Loads, etc.... I'll shoot it all. Anybody taking an Alaskan Cruise this summer that can bring up a CONEX box full or so as carry-on luggage?!?
Golden Bullets work just fine for me. The trick to using 22LR that one gun doesn't like is to have another gun that it does like. I have that requirement satisfied. Got any ya wanna sell and ship?
I'll be heading to Bass Pro and Gander Mountain this weekend and will look. The store I found the 22 lr ammo is east of Toledo called Fur, Fins and Feathers. It's a good sized store and had a bunch of ammo.
