The auction company extended the auction for several more hours last night (from 4 PM EDT to about 4 AM). This turned out to be a good thing for us, as the bidded price went from $15,000 to $20,000. in that time.
Some big ticket items were a jersey worn by Lou Gehrig @ $280,000., a Joe Jackson card @ $170,000., an Honus Wagner card @ $160,000., and a Gehrig bat @ $150,000.
There were 1700 items in the auction and our baseball turned out to be the 2nd highest bidded signature ball (behind a single signature Jimmie Foxx). I'd say there was somewhere around 100 signature baseballs in the auction including several N.Y. Yankee World Series Champions from the '30s thru the '70s that included as many as 8 or nine HOF player signatures. Ours was the highest bidded multi-signature ball in the auction.
Yes, we're happy!...lol
