got to vent!
Got to vent so bare with me. what in the Christ are these folks in dc thinking?! 10 years of revenues for 6 years of benefits. penalties aka taxes on ME for 4 years before any chance to use the so called benefits. increased revenues to pay for this by increasing the capital gains tax. when was the last time increasing the capital gains tax increased revenues? special deals for vt, hi, mt, conn, la, ne, the unions that don't have to pay taxes on their benefits. 52% of the people don't want this health care bill but ram it down our throats anyway. since when did we elect people to parent us and stop electing people to represent us? all I can say is this sucks and i'll scrape and spend every penny i can or go door to door whatever it takes, to make sure these morons never hold public office again.
The Government has raped the Constitution just like any street prostitute! I'm telling you the time has come when the People of the United States better wake their stupid butts up and clean Washington out. My feeling right now is this is not My government anymore as it has chosen not to listen to the clear majority of its people and instead forced a Socialistic agenda on us whether we want it or not. Those misguided individuals who voted for change, well you got what you deserve, the rest of us will somehow have to fight to take back what you gave away. America as we grew up to know and love, it's just a distant memory right now. The corruption in Washington mirrors Moscow, Germany. Total control of the people, by the government, thats the agenda! How's that feel to you! Ronn, I too couldn't be more teed off:ranting:
Hey, Ron, HM and anyone else who cares to read this.
Two guys visit NYC for the first time. When they arrive, each of them strikes out in a different direction for the day. That evening, they meet up and start comparing notes about the "Big Apple". The first guy starts lamenting, "Man, what a terrible place this it! All I saw were drug dealers, prostitutes, bars and crack houses on every corner. This place is just a modern Sodom! What do you think of it?"
His friend stared back at him with a somewhat puzzled look.
"I saw great libraries and museums, and there was the most beautiful cathedral. And there were operas and theaters with talented musicians and entertainers. I saw wonderfully equipped hospitals and universities. This is a great place!"
Point is, we tend to see what we want to see in all things. Some of us see things that make us panic, but it's just as possible to see a different picture.
We are living in a country of great wealth and a great history of helping people (usually people in OTHER countries) that's been sitting back and doing nothing while 31,000,000 fellow countrymen and women go without health care. What I see is an opportunity to help those souls have a better life. These people are right here - not in Haiti or some other third world country. Sure, we might have to dig into our pockets and help them, but what kind of people are we anyway! As politicized as this has gotten, it's pretty easy to get riled by Nancy Pelozzi's coat hanger smile face and John Boner's, I mean Beaner's, I mean Boehner's obstructionist rhetoric, but after all is said and done, Amercans helping Americans looks good to me. That what I see. Anyone care to visit NYC with me sometime?
onehorse, I too see great things in America. The problem is the agenda for the furure, by Washington today, is wrong for America tomorrow. That's how I see it. The federal Government has taken control where the Constitution clearly and with great wisdom separated powers and state's rights to protect against the very thing we are seeing today. If socialism is your choise then I will be on the other side politically. The founding fathers saw what America was and needed to be, its what made America so great! Washington today is a sad failure to the people, by the people and for the people. Washington has sold our soul to China that's really nice! We truly need a change, history I hope, will be on my side of the court at the end of the political ball game.
nice story onehorse. but you forgot about the third guy that was with them. he came back to the group and said i don't want to live here. not only is there the crime, drugs and the like, you saw. and the everything you could ask for that you saw but there is this group that not only pays to battle the crime and such but they are made to pay for those beautiful buildings with all the services and cover those that won't hold up their end of things, without being asked if they want to, all while trying to make ends meet in their own house. i'm going back to my little farm in the hills and let the rest of it implode on itself, either that or stand up and rail against the burdens imposed upon them by the minority.
Onehorse I don't see 31 million, I see half of that being people that won't or did not get up off their backsides to get health care OR should not be here in the first place. I also see Washington saying the heck with what it costs to other 250 million+ other citizens that work and pay there taxes AND are legally here or residents. Personally I welcome revolution and booting those 215+ votes clean out of Washington and the country.:ranting: By the way WE HAVE A CHOICE WHETHER OR NOT WE WANT TO GO TO NYC!
play nice fellas, keep in mind a lot of us want to jump in and be heard as well but now isnt the time to get all heated over it, we ALL saw it coming long before now so waiting until now to vent ronn was poor timing and at this point it's only going to cause an unnecessary and heated debate.
Everyone should Step back take deep breaths and just PRAY that the American Voices are represented when it's time to vote and when I say American voices I mean the Majority because the majority don't want this passed.
bb i'm playing nice. I haven't done any personal attacks here cause everyone has a right, given to us by our creator not the government, to voice their opinion, concerns, and frustrations. voicing them now cause if not now when? i've done the contact my reps thing. and suggest that everyone do so, pro or con. couldn't agree more with your last line, which is what is leading to me needing to vent. if i were in the minority i wouldn't like it but hey i'm in the minority so i have to go along and take it but for this bill i'm not in the minority i'm in the majority.
A big thanks, Bruce, for injecting the idea of taking a deep breath here. These ARE troubled times to be sure, and everyone is feeling frustrated for one reason or another. Hell, no one in our plant has had a raise in almost four years! But even though this is supposed to be a hunting website, occasionally we all feel like "venting" just like Ronn. Anyway, it's pretty clear that we ALL want what's best for our country - just some different points of view. So, now I'll take a step back as you suggest, and hope the rest follow suit. Thanks again, Bruce.
