Default Middle TN sheds..

All right, a couple pics here of my recent findings. Just as a side note, I haven't been hunting yet so you can imagine I am anticipating the upcoming seasons....in the meantime though I've been into shed hunting and have found some nice antlers already. I've got a nice set that I mounted and scored at roughly 115" buckmasters (spread not included). Just a couple days ago though I came across my first non-typical...both sides only several feet apart. Right one was normal but the left one had a split brow tine and a kicker coming out right underneath that. The set came out at around 111".

anyway I'll let the photos speak for themselves now. Can't wait to get out and find more...

PS - I didn't upload the pic of the mounted 115 but I will if yall want me to

Looking good, I bet you can't wait to get out! You should use dark backgrounds (black sheet) to let the antlers stick out better in the photo; great idea with the dollar bill for size comparison. Best of luck this hunting season!

That's cool. I've only found a spike buck shed while turkey hunting and never any others. Post those pics.

Nope not on any particular deer farm although I did temporarily have permission to look around one farm that was about 700 acres and loaded with deer. Found 7 antlers in 2 separate trips out there. The people renting the land were fine with me going back there but when he called up the landowner who doesn't live on the property he didn't want anyone else going on the land....so that place is off limits even though there are more sheds out there. Still they probably are all chewed up by all the possums I saw out there.

I've been finding them around random areas, not particularly on farms but places where the deer are more concentrated. I was really surprised to find that non typical shed on the side of some knoll next to a busy road.

Non typical meaning split brow tine and 4" kicker right under that. It's in the pic...how would cars make a rack non typical?

Lots of deer around here...just have to find the spots where they are most concentrated and often I find sheds in those areas.

Cool deal.

That stinks about losing permission to hunt sheds on that one. Maybe you will meet the dude and he will change his mind.

an injury to the right side of a buck will often times create and nontypical antler to the left side and other way around. can be from a gun or bow shot but most often being hit by a car. it could also just be genetics but an injury will cause it as well.

buckfever - yeah I would like to meet him in person sometime. wouldn't get my hopes up though, he was concerned about insurance or something like that.

ronn -maybe it was an injury, I dont know. Just got lucky and found both sides a few feet apart, the non typical side has a tighter curve than the other one. not very symmetrical but I can't wait to mount them, they'll look cool anyway on the wall
