Default Little piece of Heaven

This would be it for me. I stumbled across this place while trout fishing in the Smokie Mountains. It is about three miles up Jakes creek at about the 3,000 ft elevation. There is no roads or any way in there other than by foot.

This was a private inholding in the park that the owners had to give up recently (last 5 or 10 years). I think they had a 50 year exemption or something. Apparently the park service is going to keep this place up because it had some recent repairs. the door was open so I went in and looked around it was a neat place about 100 yards off one of my favorite trout streams.

Very nice pic, It really looks like a typical Vermont Country home...

Nice picture! It brought back memories. I built a log cabin several years ago in Michigan using my chain saw and standing red oak logs from the property. I will have to send some pictures of it as soon as I figure how to do it.

I would like to be sitting on that front porch about now. Pretty place.

What help you need on those pics hunting man. I would like to see that cabin you built. If you already have them on your pc just email them to me and I can put them up.

Buckfever thanks, I'll have to check. I do have a scanner that may work. I'll see where all the pictures are. I had a two page article on the cabin run in Work Bench magazine. Stihl sent a person to my house to write the article about building the cabin using one of their chainsaws. This was a true do it yourself project.

They allways bite great up there. Don't get into the really big fish but a ton of native fish and an occasional brookie.
