Got a nice 8pt yesterday morning at 6:45am. Finally got some north wind and some cold weather! Shot high on him at 310yds and dropped him in his tracks. Going to get him euro mounted. When I drove the truck up to load him up, there was a younger buck standing over him all bristled up. He didn't mind that I was in my truck less than 50yds from him. I got out, gun in hand of course, and walked closer real slow. The younger buck slowly walked away to the wood line. While I was loading my buck in the truck, the younger buck just stood there and watched and eventually just walked away calmly. That's a FIRST

310 yds is by far the longest shot I have ever taken on a deer. I felt confident as I had my rifle zeroed in and just felt good about the shot. Now the 310 yds is not official, that is tator steps and my steps may have been shorter than 310.
