We pulled the last 5 weeks' pictures off the trail cam on the 10th. As of the 8th, the big buck we'd seen on our last bunch of pics that was still in velvet then, is still in the area and looking like the #1 candidate for our lease. A good number of other nice bucks of 8 points are also still around. We even got some excellent pictures of a couple bucks fighting (both eights, I believe). By the look of their ears (pinned back) and the number of pics with their antlers locked (40+), I'd for sure call it a fight rather then just sparring.

Here's the biggest buck we've seen with one of the decent eights with him. Two pictures from the previous bunch with him still in velvet and one from this last bunch. He is within 15' of where I took a 140+ last year on opening day of rifle season.

Thanks for the comments. We will go out for the first time Saturday morning with the two day early Kentucky M/L season. I think he looks even better now with the velvet gone! Luckily it looks like the coolest weather so far this coming weekend, so my fingers are crossed one of us will get a look at him.

Good luck- share some pics of that big boy when you get him!

Well, nothing to share from the early M/L season. Three of us hunting and not even a glimpse of any bucks. Only a couple does seen all weekend. I had to be happy watching squirrels, ducks, geese and herons! :whistling:

Full moon all night long might have kept most deer movement to after dark :wallbash: I reckon that's why we call it "hunting"!
