Googily has lost the velvet

He shed sometime in the last week. Was hoping to get pics of the hanging, shredded stuff. Guess you can't have it all.

Here's a link to my 2009 trailcam pics. Choose an album cover and click on it. When the pics load hit the slideshow button over the first pic. I usually add another album each week.

Great googily moogily thats a monster buck

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky

He's certainly not typical of the area. Probably 80% or more are taken as 1 1/2 year olds, so not many get a chance to show what they could achieve. He's not an old buck by any means. No more than 3 1/2 in my opinion, but shows that even one extra year from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 can make a big difference if the genetics/ nutrition are there.
