Hunting Island State Park

What a great place to camp! Spent all week on the beech doing nothing but beech combing and enjoying the camp. The site was practically on the beech and shady even though the temp was low nineties inland it stayed about 85 and breezy in camp. Hunting Island state park SC is a definite place to go if you can.

Did a little shark fishing which was the big fish of choice this time of year. Caught about twenty 3' or so and had three on that I couldn't do anything with on 25 lb line.

The food was great; first night was a shrimp boil, second night shrimp scampi, the next night was low country boil or something like it. It's Shrimp, corn on the cob, smoked sausage and potatoes all together in a crab boil. One night we had shark in the smoker on mesquite and hickory wood. All that and we never left camp to eat!

Here's a pic or two. I'll try to get some in the members gallery later as soon as I learn to resize them.

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.

And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky
