replaceing scope

ok guys i have a question, i let a friend of mine use my remington 270 which got dropped and missed up the scope, dont have the money to buy a new one and neither does he. so my question is i have a bushnell doa 250 on my wolf black powder 50 cal. could i use that scope on my 270. if so do i need to sight it in the same way i did before at 100 yds. then use it the same way out to 300 yds. i know its for black powder but dont know if it will work on a center fire. thanks.

Ballistics will not be the same for the scope calibrations in my opinion based upon the velosity between the two is greatly different. However, I see no problem using it for a while until you can get a replacement. As you said sight it in at 100 yds and then shoot out to 200 to see the point of impact vs the graduation dots/bars whatever the scope is set up for. You probably have at least 800 fps difference probably a bit more between the ML and 270 so the hold over marks won't be the same for the two different rifles. If sighted in at 100 yds knowing point of impact vs the actual scope yardage marks become easy after that. You may want to hold your shots to under 200 yds???

Greetings Chuck67207, welcome to the club.
I would switch the scopes and sight in at 100 yards but then I would fine tune my accuracy at 150 yards,
I'm strict on myself when it comes to accuracy,
I know If i'm hitting bullseyes at 150 yards with a .270 then I have no worries from 0 out to 300 yards.
