Weaver Scopes

I am looking for some opinions on these scopes. I am looking to change the scope on my 204 Ruger varmint rifle. I would like something with fine crosshairs and something in the variable power range that goes to 20 or 24 power along with target turrets. I have read alot about weavers micro trac adjustment system and it seems to be top notch for repeatability to adjust for the yardage and return to zero but I have no experience with these scopes and before I drop $400 plus into another scope I want some opinions if there are any out there. I know Leupold has all the criteria I am looking for but they are alittle actually alot out of my price range and I have heard that alot of competition shooters use the Weaver scopes. Does anybody have any experience or opinions on these. Thanks in advance.

I own a couple Weaver scopes now, all of the newer variety. I don't own any with as high a magnification as you've mentioned however. I have two 3-9x38s (V9), a 2-7x32(V7), 1-3x20(V3) and a 4x38(K4). I cannot say that I've had a problem with any of them and actually have one of the V9s atop a very nice custom rifle. I think the new Weaver scopes are a very good value/$$ actually.

I know you wanted more than 12x but the smaller new Redfield's I have seen were nice scopes. The retail on the Redfield 4x12 is only 210 dollars.
