Scope Question

I'm new to muzzleloaders and just purchased my first, CVA Wolf for Ohio's muzzleloader season. I didn't have a chance to get a scope so I used the regular sights. I've been looking on the net and talking to friends that have been hunting for years and Bushnell scopes seem to be a popular choice. My question is go with the Slug scope 1.75-4x32mm or go with a 3-9x40mm. Price is only $5 dollars difference, however the 32mm has a 6" eye relief and the 40mm has a 4" eye relief. Like I said for a shotgun the 1.75-4 would be fine but I'm not sure what to use for a muzzleloader.

Hello and welcome to the site. I really don't think you need/want the 6" of eye relief for the muzzleloader, however, you probably will not utalize the 9X either. I know others on this site have posted good results on the bushnell line of mid priced scopes and your muzzleloader would shoot fine with one. For the 5 bucks I'd opt for the 3X9 just for the larger dia optics should give slightly better low light gathering.

Thanks for all of your help. I have one more question, does anyone know if this is a good scope or not? CenterPoint 2-7x32mm Scope My local Wal-Mart has it and the guy at the counter said it's an excellent scope.

no real clue but if its from wal-mart i'd be somewhat suspicious. i've not seen any real good scopes at my local store. joel has a place to get good stuff on line at a good price. optic planet i think.

Just 2 days ago I was talking with one of the guys in the sporting goods Dept at my local wal mart.
I was asking him about the same scopes, He said he had personally sold probably a hundred or more and never had a complaint about them and never had one come back.
He even bought one this season for his muzzleloader and says, so far he loves it. If I were looking for a scope for a Muzzleloader or one of my plinking rifles, I'd probably give one a try, they have loads of important features, nitrogen filled, 100% waterproof, fog proof and shock proof,
a lifetime guarantee etc etc etc... and at just 65 bucks that's really not a bad deal at all.

I would stay away from that one.you won't be happy.i never heard of that brand name.i would buy a tasco before i bought one of those.i would do alittle more research before you buy that one from walmart.just my opinion.
