Who owns body armor/bullet proof vest?

I read the article METRO posted about the Argentine economic collapse and the author made an emphatic recommendation to get body armor while you can. I did the google, yahoo and amazon searches but not a lot of info.

So, who owns body armor? What do you recommend? What's a good price?

don't own any, but not much good when head shots are taken. As far as I know body armor doesn't stand up to most rifles, I could be wrong but it's just not on my bucket list. For up close fighting 12 ga and different buckshot loads will be much more effective.
