"New" 45 Long Rifle
Got this at a good price. Great handling rifle actually. Trigger pull was horrible but after some filing and some sand paper work, got her perfect at 1lb. I know, to light, but that's the way I want them on my rifles.

35" long 13/16th .45cal barrel, The twist has me thrown off. Im not going to complain about it because I have to shoot conicals in order to be legal " 170gr minimum law" but after measuring the twist with a tight fitting patch, it came out at 1:24 !!

Very unusual I thought.

Stamped PR, FIE, Italy

She will get an entire make over once I finish up some other projects and order some supplies.

Really nice rifle FG. I love that look where the forearm continues all the way to the end of the barrel, kind of manlicher style.Should be a tack driver with that twist.

very much like the old CVA kit rifles except the twist which seems really fast for the type of ML???

"years" ago I owned an FIE .45 but I think the twist rate was more like 1 in 34 it is a good looking rifle for what it is, cheaply constructed though but usually priced fairly when you locate them today.
I hope you didn't spend too much on this one, I've seen them available at shows for around 100 bucks or less in as good a condition if not better than the one you have pictured.

I have an old 70's CVA kit rifle that my Dad put together looks very similar. I think the kits sold for right around $100-$125.00. I've seen auctions sell these for $150 for nicely completed rifles and more for old kits still in the box. The FIE rifles are priced maybe a tad higher but very close. These were an entry level ML.

That ROT does seem a bit fast, Keep us informed as to how she shoots!

I have one of those old CVA kits, still brand new in the box. Mine is a Kentucky Long Rifle. I found that they came in either traditional or percussion, mine is percussion. One of these days I'll get around to building it out, an old friend of mine had it for years and gave it to me.
