ive done plenty of great shooting without the lead sled, it however makes things a lot more pleasant when shooting mag loads for testing.

Nothing fancy with this one.


Even the size of the bulls eye you are aiming at makes a huge difference. I have super thin cross hairs and a 1/2" bulls eye is much to large for pin point accuracy. It simple stuff like this that can affect your accuracy.

Just for laughs FG. Shoot some targets the way you hunt. That's useful info to me. I haven't found a bench in the mountains when i'm hunting.

I like to go down on one knee. I've never found a spot that the position didn't work for me.

How do you normally shoot while hunting?

You mentioned your brother in law squeezing the stock. It was about 30 years ago that I realized i was twisting the stock when I shot. I never wrap my thumb over the wrist of the stock anymore. I leave it on top behind the hammer. It helps me hold the gun level, and relieves tension too.

basically drop to one knee and fire. Its different though when aiming at a time bulls eye. I have some life size deer targets i will practice on a few months before hunting season. Also set up with sling stix as well.

Do those work for you in cold weather? I thought I read somewhere that they stick.

yeah they work in cold weather. They just pop out from a cover that houses them. They remind me of tent poles.

Are those fully extended? They look low for the kneeling position.

yeah fully extended, Made more for on your butt shooting. If i draw a tag in new mexico, these will be perfect as we hunt the flats.

Nuts! That would have been perfect, but i'm too used to using the kneeling position.

Plus, I don't mind putting a knee in the mud, but would rather not sit in it.
