try the blackhorn 209 powder its worth the extra money in my opinion

a buddy from New Jersey got the same rifle a few weeks back and he's shooting 1" groups at 100 yards using two 50 grain triple 7 pellets and the new Smackdown SST bullets from Traditions
so that's going to be my first load to try and then I'll see what happens from there.
I'll keep you's informed on how it shoots when I get the chance to get it out...
OH btw, If anyone is looking to change what they are using for bullets, Traditions Smackdown SST bullets are getting awesome reviews.

bruce are these the same as the hornady's sst.I got some of them in the 250gr,wondering if there the same.

Yeah I think they're all the same, the TC Shockwaves, the Traditions Smackdowns and Hornady's SST's are probably all the same but Traditions seems to offer them at the best price...

yup all look the same to me. I want to locate some of those new CVA bullets that look like something the US military would make. There is a past post/picture on these.

After I use up my Barnes bullets I may start using these. Basically the same as the Hornady SST bullet, just that it doesn't say "Muzzleloader" on the package. $27 for 50 is a lot cheaper than muzzleloader SST's as well.
