Default Ohio ML season....no deer down....

We hunt about 2000 acres wooded, hay fields, ponds, and so on. Started the morning out with seeing 4 does from the truck along the road heading to the ground blind. 10:30 am and those were the only deer we saw. We did a drive on 5 different sections and didn't jump one deer. This property produced 48 deer during shotgun season. Decided to go back to the ground blind and finally along the woods line a doe, problem is 200+ yards away. Waited and waited then about 4:30 pm decided it's about to get dark she isn't going to come any closer why not, took the shot. Smoke cleared and she's still standing there looking around. Reloaded put the crosshairs a little higher missed again. She stood there for a second then started walking back into the woods. Wow, I have been hunting this property since high school, that's 20+ years and never seen a day go by that noone had a deer down. Saw tons of spots where the deer were beded down at one point but nothing. Hope it gets better before ML seasons ends.

Yeah, that's what we thought too. We do have 5 or 6" of snow on the ground still, one of the guys said they are probably in the woods by a cut corn field but it's not our property. Suppose to warm up monday and tuesday hopefully that will be better.

could be PA....., I just spent 4 days there and didn't see anything. I have hunted the same area for 37 years and this was by far the worst year.
