I'm a little confused,, How'd the 4f make it's way past the projectile and wading to help the pellets?

I'm pretty sure that he meant he put a little 4F down the bore before dropping the pellets in & loading the patched ball or bullet. That way the 4F in the pan would ignite the 4F under the pellets to start the pellets burning.

If you're going to see if the pellets would work (by themselves) why would you include 4f ?
If they're not going to work without the use of 4f, why include them and risk misfires?

I wanted to try them, i first installed just the pellets and had six miss fires, took touch hole pick and kept probing it in hole till i got little opening and forced 4f powder in hole refilled pan and then the gun fired. The next three shots, I first put two squirts down the barrel then pellets and then the sabot and bullet. Sorry for any confusions. I like using the loose powder and havent had any miss fires with it as of yet. Took my first deer with it yetserday and the rush was unexplaiable. Gotta love flintlocks.

Congratulatioins on your first rocklock deer!

You might as well give those pellets to someone that uses an inline & sell all your other guns. There's not much you can do to stop it now.....you're gonna be hooked on flintlocks!

Yes thank you for clearing this up, I was really wondering how the pellets worked or in this case, didn't work!

No problem guys, I was to after I came back and read it. Not going to use the pellets again. I already decided when ever I can use my flint Im going to, lot more fun, more challenging, and have never had a rush like that from shotting something with my rifles. Already planning on buy couple more flints, looking at Lyman plains rifle kit, or pennsylvania model flints.
