The sprue.

I dislike the sprue on round balls. It seems to me it is an opportunity for curving flight of the round ball.

Baseballs are round, but the seams let the pitcher throw curving pitches.

Does anybody know whether he sprue causes the round ball to curve, at least some of the time?

Thank You!

Roger

In the early 60s to mid 70s i attended numerous muzzleloader matches in the eastern US along with "Uncle Joe". He said the position of the sprue did not matter unless it was in the rifling.

"Uncle Joe" was a serious marksman who won hundreds of muzzleloader shooting contests in his lifetime. Contestants would groan in agony when that old man showed up.

If you don't like the sprue tumble the balls and it will go away.
