Smile Sabot Question

I have knocked the dust off my mid-1970's H&R Huntsman 45 cal. muzzleloader. I shot it yesterday with the powder and round balls I used back then. It shot great.
I'm wondering if the rifling in that gun would allow me to shoot the new Sabot bullets?
I load 60 grains of FFFg and am not sure that is enough punch to shoot the 195 grain Sabot - my round balls weigh 130 grains.
This is my first post, I hope it made sense and would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

The rifling may possibly be to slow in that gun. You never know though you may find that it works o.k. I would say try it.....You may also want to try something like a maxiball or buffalo bullets as some may call them.

with out knowing the rifling twist I would agree that a TC maxi-hunter, or a Buffalo bullet might be your best bet and would be a giant improvement over the round ball. To take a guess I would think the twist is a 1-45 or 1-48" and might not shoot modern sabots. I would favor the TC maxi-hunters as I have some very good experience with them.
