Spent some money today. I found a really clean Smokercraft 161 in Michigan. Left this morning at 6am and got back around 3pm. For a 2007 model it looks brand new. Motor skag and prop have no marks on them at all. The 50 hp Merc will fill the Canadian inland lake speed needs. I don't think this boat was used more than 5-6 times. Will post a picture later.
I hear you, I can throw a stone in Lake Erie from my porch. I enjoy fishing Canada for trophy pike. Catching a 20 lb pike is like shooting a nice buck to me. This year we have a log cabin rented on a great potential trophy lake. We've fished it 5 other times with a pretty good record of getting at least one nice pike/trip. On average we catch 200-300 pike in 5 days of fishing. Many are small 1-2 lb but sometimes a 40" water wolf shows up. Occasional walleye and perch are added for dinners.
