Good for the Deer I hope i dont jinx us but this lack of winter in the Notheast is much needed for the deer after last years winter. We've only had 3inches of snow so far in Buffalo.:pickle: |
Here in ky our coldest time is always January and Febuary. Most of the time the only snow we see is in January maybe twice around two inches, but in a area that don't get snow that shuts every thing around here down for that one or two days before its off the roads. But yes 50* in December is nice for the critters that live outside for sure ! Lol |
I know where the snow went to. It is all in NM. Three major storms in as many weeks. 22 inches, 9 inches and 14 respectively. Granted I live at a higher elevation than most in NM but that is still a lot of snow. |
barely a trace of snow here in NW Ohio. We set a new rain fall record just this week since they have been keeping records. |
N. Illinois has seen maybe, MAYBE 2" so far. hope the heavy stuff holds off till after the final week of hunting. still holding out hope for a hanger. But a doe will do. |
Hunting Man where you at in NW Ohio? I live close to Defiance |
I would kill for some cold weather to get the deer active and walking. Finally turned cold one night, last Sunday, and I got a 114lb doe and saw 6 that night. Turned back to the 70s next day and didnt see a thing the rest of the week. |

Here in Maine the lowest temp we had so far was -11 and only for 1 night. Only about 5" of snow on the ground. It's a blessing!! A warm open winter would sure help our deer. |
Temps in central Texas have been in the mid-50's for most of the past week. Cool and damp due to the cold fronts passing through the dumped so much snow in the panhandle and on Crawdaddy. We'll take ALL the rain we can get! Been watching a young buck for the past week. It will be another couple of seasons before his rack will qualify him for the freezer, but he's already got a good size to the rest of him. RR |
