Illinois farmland prices making it real hard

With the prices of Ag land the highest in history here in Illinois, it really makes the possibility of acquiring that deer hunting oasis more of an impossibility than ever. Some of the prices being paid as of late are over $8,000 per acre and I think there were some purchases that were in the $13,000 per acre range. which would make my paradise cost me $520,000 and that's just land value.

Your not alone. I could never afford something like that. Its cool to dream about though.

I'm lucky I have two brothers who own some ground. One has 37 acres, the other 39, a mile apart from each other right on the river. If it weren't for that I'd have absolutely nowhere to hunt.

and the farmers around the area have people who have hunted there land for years so its hard for people that are new to the area to get places to hunt. Thats one of my problems i have now,
