Default Pennsylvania ratios

4 to 1 where I hunt.Favoring antlerless deer. However,it's hard to determine which ones are button bucks.I see an antlered buck about one out of five deer.

I strive for a 1-1 slightly favoring bucks.

A caution to those who favor does: Not a bad practice, but it can lead to having smaller and smaller bucks.

Default Favoring does

I personally don't favor the high doe population in PA.But this is the result of low deer populations on public land and high populations on private lands where many owners and clubs use does to attract bucks.

Just got a complimentary copy of Illinois outdoor news. One of the headlines are, State's deer hit neutral. it goes on to say that the sex ratio is hitting equalibrium and is estimated to be 50/50 right now. so, I guess its not just my neck of the woods.
