| | Taxidermist Question?
I dropped of Last Years Buck in January to have a simple Skull Mount done, The taxidermist said to expect it to take about a month and a half to get it done. I called in April and left a message but have yet to receive a call, Should I call again ... Or just show up at his shop ( which is behind his house). Or should I continue to wait?

I would drop by and have a chat just to see how things are going. Be friendly and let him know you tried to call but didn't get a response. It was his time table that you are going by.

I have found often times taxidermists have two schedules, the one they would like to follow and the actual time frame which usually takes a lot longer. But I have to admit when I have game being done I'm not the most patient person in the world. lol

sounds like you are having the same problem with your taxedermist that I had, but mine was a full shoulder mount. not sure where my whole argument story is on here, but had it all typed out this past winter. I would definately call him and/or stop by his place. You are the customer and as far as I'm concerned, you're always right. If he told you a month and a half, it should be a month and a half. I was told on my buck that it would be 6-8 months for the mount to be done. 1 year and about 4 months later I got my mount. Had to involve the BBB with him.

Like everyone else on here said I would stop by at the very least. I have a skull mount as well that I dropped off in Jan. I believe its done now but just have to find the time when Im off work and he is in his shop. I believe its harder to catch these guys when you drop work off late in the season.
They start working all the time at start of season. They are still working their tail off and always at their shop when we drop off our late season work. The work starts tailing off and they start spending less and less time in their shops. It gets on my nerves because im impatient as well, but it seems no matter what taxidermist shop you use you get better customer service during the heart of the season.
I didnt have a time frame with mine and expected a rather lengthy time since the place I take it is also the place everyone else takes theirs as well. I didnt pay in advance to get mine moved to the top of the list so mine will be about the last one that he does.
