End of an era

RIP Tree Lounge climbers. They are closing the doors for good.

Thumbs up

While I've never owned a tree lounge climber, I'll admit to enjoying the videos that Bob & Margaret made hunting deer & black bear. I may have to pull them out again this weekend and have a tribute showing.

Good old American spirit and work ethic, not selling out to the "big boys". Something to be said for Mom & Pop companies....

Bob had passed away about 5 years ago and Margaret was trying to keep it going. but the down swing in the economy just put a hurting on the company.

After your initial posting here, I checked the website and saw that Bob had indeed passed. Remembering now off the top of my head, I think my favorite of their videos was one about Hunting Moonshine Island. Bob had met an old timer who told him of an island that was full of big deer. As this old timer told Bob about the place, he kept asking him some questions; "Are you afraid of alligators?"..... "Are you afraid of rattlesnakes?" were among those questions. It was (is ) a very entertaining deer hunting video to watch.

They went on a black bear hunt (baited) where Margaret got one after several days. Turns out the camp and guides were probably not quite what they had thought when they booked their hunt and when they arrived, they found that the cabin they were staying in was not quite finished. It was about 2/3rds done and only had a tarp for a roof. It was not even high enough to stand inside the whole cabin, only part of it was built that high...lol. Yup, their videos were always interesting and also showed a bunch of nice deer getting whacked as well.
