dont we know that. Id say thats why more fl. hunters go to other states to hunt than others hunters do. I can also say from experiance that fl. is one of the hardest places to hunt. I have hunted several other states and by far fl. is much toughier for everything we have to deal with

Default Arkansas

Great, I'm scheduled to head off to Arkansas this November for a Whitetail hunt, and now you're telling me I've got about a 50% chance of taking a deer. Now what?

50% is pretty darn good odds, I'd take those odds anytime. PA is way down where we hunt. Seeing 25 deer in a 9 day hunt used to be you'd see 30 in one day.

I am so looking forward to this trip. Arkansas has a deer population of almost a million deer, their ideal population is around half a million. I'm heading off to Arkansas to help with the problem. Most importantly, I'm not looking to bring home a trophy, but I am looking forward to bring home a cooler of venison.

that for sure doesnt represent the amount of deer killed on private property that arent checked in. my state has gone to a call in checking thing now and its ridiculous. also, im not sure VA should be way up there. my entire side of the state has had 3 succesive record low deer harvests. we were down 32% over 2 years ago. yes more people are letting young bucks walk but not a third of them.

yeah sounds like MO has got it going on. our game dept needs to let us shoot more does on private land. i sat in a stand last year over a cut corn field and saw 32 does and 2 small bucks. also, we cant harvest does just any day, we have designated doe days. our game dept is still running off of their 1960s principles and despite constant hunter complaints, have done nothing about it. its gotten to the point that people are paying biiiigggg $$ to go hunt other states for a crack at one or maybe 2 deer, and having size restrictions bestowed on them by the outfitters. i do pretty well here but ive noticed a huge difference in both deer and hunter traffic the past few years.
