Big Coyote

Maybe I'm crazy, but this coyote I have seen a couple times while hunting, but always at over 300+ yds away. He's the biggest I've ever seen. Our yotes here in MO are shorter to the ground and their ears are shorter as well. Let me know what you think... old coyote??

I'm no expert but it doesn't look like a coyote to me at all. I think gray wolf hy-bred and dog possibly, maybe all wolf. Has more dog/wolf legs and hindquarters than a coyote. Head looks all wolf to me. Don't really know, see what others say.

HM I was thinking the same thing as I am by all means NO expert either but looks more like a wolf then the coyotes we have here in NH

I absolutely agree with you all guys! My father in law is a cattle farmer and is one of those guys who's "seen it all", so I'm waiting for his response to it.

I also agree that it looks more hybrid than pure yote, possibly a CoyDog or a Dogote... Northern hunters see more of them than they realize but usually pass them off as just plain ole yotes.
Some say the coydogs are rare now-a-days but according to some articles I've read some experts don't buy the rarity theory...

i dont think the neck is as big as the pic i think its a camera angle and i say it looks like a full grown adult yote. i vote yote here in ky the avarage yote in kinda colored like a germin shepherd dog (i said kinda) and i got that inpression in your black n white pic form the different shades but then again we dont have wolves here in ky either so i cant say its not one

Well I e-mailed the pic to the Missouri Dept. of Conservation and they said it's a coyote. I still say it's some sort of dog/coyote mix. haven't seen him since....

Pretty much the same dept that says there's no cougars in Michigan, PA, Ohio ect ect.

Some long legs.. At first look I thought that looks like a wolf.

Im no expert either. Only wolves I have seen have been on the T.V.

Never seen a yote that big in TN or with that big of head.
