Sons first hunt and it was a start that I can tell the story of for years

Well this morning was my sons first ever hunting trip. We got up and ready and headed out.

The walk to our blind is about 250 yards from the house and when we were almost there I told him to stay right behind me and not walk in the field because of recent rain it was rather mushy. Well, he didn't listen and directly I heard him say " wait" I turned around to see he had walked about 4 feet out into the field and gotten himself stuck lol. Upon helping him get unstuck his shoes stayed stuck in the mud. I had to give him my socks to wear after I dug his boots out of the field lol.

We laughed about it when we got back home. We might not of got a shot at a deer today on his first outing but we sure got some good memories and learned to pack extra socks in our gear bag lol. And he has already said he wants to go again in the morning

Those are the kind of memories that will stick with you guys for ever. I know my Dad still brings up things that happened my first few years in the field and I'm 40 now. Glad to hear you guys had a good laugh and he's ready to go again

Kids, Gotta love 'em !

Thanks for your story. My sons are coming next weekend to hunt bringing with them my grandsons for their first hunt, maybe I'll have stories to share. If McCoulloch county survives!

Lol true but I don't think it would have mattered any at all. Boys are gonna find a way to get dirty and muddy lol.
