Default Hunting deeper into the season

Hello to everyone. Would anyone care to share an advice, how to approach hunting over the second (third) weekend after the opening day? Deer is less active, more cautious and there's less survivors after the opening weekend. The rut is pretty much over too, I'd presume. How shall I adjust my hunting techniques? Shall I stalk more (combining the hunt with learning about the grounds)? Shall I pick a plot and still sit tight all day? Or shall I somehow mix both approaches?

If it's drizzly and gray you should stalk. The leaves are wet and will make less noise if you step on them. If the woods are silent and the leaves dry pick a spot and stay. I do that and it works well. Good Luck!

Mr. Fox ive come to the conclusion that still hunting is best in the late season because the simple fact that the deer are more alert and spooked that they dont migrate as much,so just do some homework and find out their behavior and find a good place where they travel like between food and water or bedding grounds and food or water.Good luck and have a safe season.

Foxman, what I do in the late season is alot of walking and checking. I call it checking because I check hot spots where I've seen deer alot on my property already this season. I'm fortunate enough, though, to have land that is not solely flat, so I can do alot of walking in draws and creek beds. Good luck!
