Well just got back from the evening hunt. A front is coming tonight with rain expected. Absoultey zero wind and the woods were entirely quiet. I put down a Dominant Buck Bomb 10 yards from dripper. I am 25 feet up in a climber with crossbow. Just before dark I heard heavy steps coming towards me. I only saw a couple of glimpses of body. Gettin pretty dark. Lots of foot stomping and at least 50 snorts over a 20 minute period. The deer did a couple of 1/2 circles all within 20-30 yards but never would come in an opening. At this time my only chance was to see movement with naked eye and then try and scope it in the crossbow. Caught the big white tail once in scope, but then it came back in after another 1/2 circle. It got completely dark before it finally left. Dont know who it was but it kinda looked big in body and surely was a heavy walker. Hella'va awesome damn hunt. Heart was poundin for quite a while.
Maybe tomorrow evening or Saturday.....
