Deer hunting

Deer hunting is a popular pastime in the United States so it is getting harder and harder to find places to actually hunt. My dad quit hunting because he said he was more scared in the woods with deer hunters than he was in Vietnam. So the question is how to find a place to deer hunt?

best advice i ever got was from a friend "if you dont like where your hunting find a better spot." i says "how am i supposed to do that exactly." he replies without skipping a beat " knock on doors the worst thats gonna happen is they say no" thats the truth too i went and knocked on doors around here with very little confidence because a lot of folks around here are very unlikely to let you hunt because most of them hunt or have familys that do or other hunters have ruined it. but now i have two different tracts i hunt just from talking to folks after driving around and talking. its not easy at first but it will pay off in the end when you have private land to hunt.

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky

Totally agree. Then you know what idiots are shooting around you. Which in my opinion is a lot better than not knowing.

Call the timber companies in your area. they all have someone that handles hunting leases.
