Default Finally on the last day

Nothing like waiting till the last day ! At 10:45 a.m. I took a 172 lb ten point . Shot him in his bed , never moved an inch.Decide to hunt an area north of home with a few buddies. We hadn't hunted this area for ten years, go figure . I 'm going to do some scouting of sorts on snowmobile this winter. It took the three of us two hours to get it out as it was a ways in.I'm probably not going to mount it as the rack was not that impressive. Now I can put some meat on ice for winter, something I haven't had for a few years.

Thanks, only cell phone pics. I'll try to figure out how to down load them. Not a bad rack just not very tall points (Actually a 8-9) Brought it straight to the butcher because of temps. Plus I don't realy have a place to hang it. does anyone up there do jerky ?

Ronn yes we were in the area so to say but my buddies and i are coming up this week to bow hunt for a couple days after wed.the area had good tracking snow still so i'm told to get familiar with the area again. Maybe we can hook up and i'll show you the cell pics.not sure which three days we are coming. Staying in meredith,i hope.

funny. guess the closest rd to where i am? but i don't go in that way. a friend heard 2 shots about that time and thought it was me. after your post about not hunting this area for a long time it got me wondering if it was you. sure if you're in the neighborhood. I'm headed out this weekend with the bow but with that work thing i doubt I'll be out there this week maybe though I never know when I can't stand it any longer and bail on work a half day. I'll send you a pm with my cell #. to answer a pm just type after the "quote" in mine to you then send reply. I'm afraid the rain wed is going to wipe out the snow. call will talk

ronn,Yup there were two shots (busted). Was he near us ? Sorry if we messed him up , we saw one hunter.I wasn't going to say but it took two shots to kill it. The first one was a little to far back but he just laid there and barely moved so I put another one in his neck to finish it.I found a trail map for a local snowmobile club that is right where we were.Do you snowmobile back on those trails at all ? I could explain the area we were in to you better. I hope there is still snow . Looks like more on Wed. The trail comes out on " L H" road correct ? Is it passable by vehicle or four wheeler ?
